What does a volunteer advocate for the Sexual Assault Recovery Program do?

As advocates, we provide support and compassion to victims of sexual assault by responding to callers through the crisis hotline as well as supporting victims of sexual assault in the emergency room. Advocates sign up for shifts that are convenient for them. SARP staff provides thorough training for all volunteer advocates. A staff member is available 24/7 for advocate shadowing and support.
